Privacy Policy

Down Syndrome WA respects the privacy of all information it holds in relation to its members, other people who use our services, employees, donors and the general public, by complying with the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 and its Principles.

 

Only information necessary for the Association's legitimate functions and activities will be collected.  Where we collect information we do so for the primary purpose of providing support to people with Down syndrome and their families, or for related DSWA activities.

 

All personal details of individuals are maintained in a secure manner.  Only key staff will have access to personal information.  Information is only disclosed to other organisations or individuals with your prior informed consent.

 

All photographic material provided by members or acquired at DSWA events will be used sensitively.  Members should be aware that photographs from events are taken with the understanding that subjects realise the images may appear in DSWA publications, promotional material or on the website.  Members have the right to ask for photographic images not to be used.
