Down Syndrome WA Library Collection

DSWA has a modest library of books, videos, DVDs and multimedia kits on many aspects of Down syndrome.  The collection includes comprehensive works on Down syndrome, Early Intervention, Education, Health Issues, Puberty and Sexuality, Children's Books and Biographies, and is housed at the DSWA office in Bentley.  Books may be borrowed in person or by phone during opening hours and a library officer is available to help you with your enquiries on Wednesdays between 10am - 2pm.  New parents and current members may borrow items for a period of 4 weeks.  Country members may borrow for a period of 6 weeks.  Loans can be extended by ringing the office on 9358 3544 if they have not been reserved by another member.  Non-members of DSWA may purchase a library-only membership for the price of $22.

The ACTIV Foundation Library has one of the largest information resources on disability in Australia and has a comprehensive collection of items on Down syndrome.  It covers all aspects from early childhood diagnosis to aging issues.  Families are welcome to use their library resources on the premises, free of charge.  Membership of the ACTIV Library is available for $22 per year and this entitles you to borrow from the library.  Their catalogue is available to search online at http://www.activ.asn.au/library.
